May we just reccomend the music, because I don't have any idea as to how to give you MP3 files over the internet. However, I can give you some suggestions from what I've downloaded from Emule (it may not be entirely within the law, but it's free). I've been getting into classical music, although it's unlikely to replace classic rock as my main musical interest.
My Suggestions:
*A complete Mahler Cycle. (I'm currently downloading a Bernstein cycle from the 70s [Video], since I couldn't get the audio completely. Come to think of it, I'm mainly into him because he's A: One of Woody Allen's favorite composers and B: Family. Warning: His music is very dark.)
*Goldberg Variations (JS Bach, Performer: Glenn Gould original 1955 version).
*St. Matthew Passion (JS Bach, No preference here.)
*Solo Cello Suites (JS BAch, performed by Yo-Yo Ma, either recording)
*Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola (Mozart, Principals: Jascha Heifetz and William Primrose)
*Clarinet Concerto and Quintet (Mozart, Soloist: Benny Goodman)
*The Ninth Symphony (Lovely Lovely Ludwig Van, No preference here but I would reccomend Solti [Since he was based in Chicago, like me], Fricsay, or Karajan's [Because both were featured in ACO] performances because a post by a Clockwork Orange Fanatic about classical music wouldn't be complete without a mention of the Ninth).
*Gro゚e Fugue (Lovely Lovely Ludwig Van, no preference here for particular artists).
*Piano Concerto No. 2 (Rachmaninoff, Performed by Rachmaninoff).
*Carnival of the Animals: Aquarium (Saint-Saens, no preference)
*Etude No 3 in E Major, "Tristesse" (Chopin, No Preference)
*Rhapsody in Blue (Gershwin, Preferrably with piano by the same)
*Gassenhauer nach Hans Neusiedl (Orff, No Preference)
*Cello Conerto (Elgar, Principal: Jacqueline DuPre, Original 1965 version)
*Concerto for nine instruments (Webern, with Glenn GOuld on piano) _________________

classical music = Bee Gees in the disco period through the 70's, go ahead shoot your arrows.
The Bee Gees got so many people people laid, got recluses to don the white 3 piece Travolta outfit, inspired lampoons, got try-hard copycat comedians at a shot at comedic big time, showed the alienated nerd what is to be the toast of the nighclub and the king of the dance floor. Yep classical music in inverted commas, and you can still strut down the street to 'Staying Alive' while you walk down the street like a proud peackcock, and yet chicks love and so do I. COOL. People think you are doing fucking drugs, surely they wish they were having what I was having to paraphrase the old lady at the dinner in "When Harry Met Sally" after Meg Ryan (she had a big late 80's do, she was very pretty with those grayish blue eyes, very cute like Alicia Silverstone sort of) massively cause celebre fake orgasm. Double up please (repeat for the Director this time for the 10th time till you make it right), me too...
Then, there is Donna Summer as well, gee music is so abstract nowdays it can't be a mass number 1 hit the way it was suppose to. I am doubting my own miserable and limited mortality.
Surely the people in the 70's and 80's had more fun than the people in the 90's and the naughties. _________________

Chairman, I had totally forgotten about Azureus, thank you for reminding me about it. I'm now downloading over a gig in classical music. |
register with these guys and you can download free music http://www.joshandfriends.com.au/
You may also want to resample the mp3 files down 80 bits to optimally shrink them. _________________
