So the the inauguration is merely hours away, and I'm wondering how many conspiracy theories on the internet link Obama to the Biblical Antichrist, so I search for "obama antichrist" on Google, and get over 1 million hits.

http://o.bamapost.com/

That site was filled with paranoid rantings that were beyond insane. One of the funniest things I saw there was this clip:

http://o.bamapost.com/obama_mandatory_civil_service_plan.html

Supposedly, it's a recorded discussion between a "reporter" and a congressman who, if you believe the other voice in the clip is him, and that he decides American policy, is discussing openly how people will be forced to do some kind of "civil defense" training, etc. Very believable clip, almost fooled me if not for the links on the side of the page condemning people for being Muslims or "Jihad" linked to Obama. Very convincing.

Anyways, if you want to get some quick laughs, check out the site.

These are probably the same kind of people who think that he is a muslim, and decide to take one poorly-worded remark as having more weight than the many times he has talked about his deep Christian faith, nearly risking alienating me, only to pull me back with the realization that he's the only person standing between us and four more years of Bush (this last part is definitely from my own perspective.)

I scrolled down their main page to find what they were talking about that relates to the number 42... Allow me to post this for everyone to see.

Revelations and Daniel

Revelation 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Obama has spoken great things about "Change" and new prosperity for the world, written a book called "The Audacity of Hope." Many would say his argument that he is the best pro-life candidate is a blasphemy.
42 months is about the length of a presidential term.

Haha. Usually when I see religious nutters applying mythical prophecies to modern events and possible future events, they at least make an effort to actually stick to the prophecies' actual statements, and sure, they do their mental gymnastics to apply their deranged world-view, but they at least, as far as I usually see, would apply 42 to an exact measure. Oh well.

I assume that they might either have no idea about what they're talking about, or they're redefining the length of a presidential term to suit their own prophecies.

P.S. I finally made my 1215th post!

They're just liberally applying it, not necessarily redefining the term limit. If the number were a million, the writer would find some kind of way of claiming it relates to Obama.

I remember people claiming that Obama had said he had been to "all 57 states", and that this somehow meant that he had traveled to all 57 nations in some obscure Muslim coalition of nations. As it turned out, he was just tired as he said the remark and thus wasn't quite thinking straight. Why he would even say he had been to "57 states" of a Muslim Coalition never seems to have been made clear.

I can guarantee that Obama is NOT the anti-Christ. I have a streak of religious wacko in me; I know enough about the Bible and the anti-Christ to know who he is not.

For example: the Bible says that the anti-Christ will “Not have the desire of women”. Whether you interpret that as the anti-Christ being gay or just not wanting kids (like some of my friends do); Obama fails on both accounts. Obama clearly loves his wife and kids. I’m not to fond of his “economic-justice” (socialism) but I would never accuse the man of being the Devil-incarnate.

Why I don’t believe in “world peace”, by S. Poet

World peace would inevitably lead to lethargy of the human race and it’s eventual extinction. It’s adversity that fuels change; chaos is what moves things forward. It is not religion that fuels war, but opinion and individuality that drive people into conflict.

As long as humans are free to think and disagree there will be conflict and war. The individuality and uniqueness of free thought, that form the mote of the soul, are the causes of war. To end war you must destroy the human soul, you must cease to be human.

If there is nothing left to fight for, there is nothing left to live for. World peace is suicide.

While it certainly is laudable that we managed to established that Obama is not the Anti-Christ, there is still Nancy Pelosi.

I'm enough of a "religious wacko" to know just what McCain was up to when he ran ads which accused Obama of being a "Celebrity". The first time I heard the ad on the radio, my jaw dropped. I was going to post something about it here, but I didn't because I simply figured that my over-active sense of anti-political-theism was just over-reacting. It wasn't until after the election that I learned that I wasn't the only person who understood McCain's "message".

Now, I'm pretty sure that McCain doesn't think Obama is the anti-Christ. I don't see how anybody could believe that. Of course, I don't understand how Christians can force themselves to believe any of the crap they believe. But Obama? The Anti-Christ? Fucking lol. I don't remember anybody even suggesting that Obama was in league with Lucifer until McCain started dropping in the polls. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during that campaign strategy meeting! Simply pathetic.
