Have you ever wondered if you might qualify for some form of mental illness?
From PsychCentral comes a new test which measures your mentality into several different categories, including several mental illnesses. In case you may be suspicious as to my motives, I will post my own score myself in a few minutes, after I finish taking the test, so it won't be like I'll just read your reslts and make fun of you, like some people here. Yes, registration is required, but it is free. (link is in the logo)

Your Sanity Score
112

Based upon your answers, you appear to be experiencing some distress at the moment -- your overall mental health is affected by this distress. People with similar scores tend to experience more difficulty in coping with life, and may feel like they need more help than they're currently getting. Because of this, your mental health could likely use a little boost. If you have been feeling this way for longer than 2 weeks' time, people similar to you have sought out professional care from a mental health professional, such as a psychologist, psychotherapist or psychiatrist.

(The Sanity Score is based upon a scientific algorithm with scores ranging from 0 - 288.)

Your specific subscores are below (subscales range from 0 - 100). Under the graph of subscores, you will find additional information regarding the meaning of any significant scores or areas that may be of concern.

Your Sanity Score
57

Based upon your answers, you appear to be in generally good mental health, with some specific concerns or issues in your life. Most people have such issues to varying degrees -- some seek outside help for them from a mental health professional like a psychologist, psychiatrist or psychotherapist, while others are happy with the way things are in their life. People with similar scores sometimes feel overwhelmed by the occasional stress in life, but usually recover and are fairly resilient.

(The Sanity Score is based upon a scientific algorithm with scores ranging from 0 - 288.)

In addition it said that I'm fat, which didn't help my mental state at all quite frankly. Sad

On the plus side I'm more sane than you guys, so I guess it kinda balances out in the end. Smile

Oh yeah... It strikes me as fairly accurate. It says that my biggest problem is 'Life Events' that are out of my control and which are causing me to be anxious and unhappy (mainly unhappy). I couldn't agree more.

Well, the posttraumatic range is quite right.

I just had a trauma and it was a huge one and I guess the rest of those things have something to do with that, but there are other concern which are also right. Neutral

Update: I took a few other tests. I am actually pretty likely to suffer from something called Adult ADHD . I know why that's the case. My mind always works like a 6 or even 8 lanes highway with a bunch of thoughts coming, and I have a hard time concentrating which was really annoying for classtests because simple noises like sneezing pissed me off and got me completely distracted. But I do not run around all day or something like that... Well well, I bet if I'd go to a psychiatrist they would find a few things.

And taking top honors as the sanest person here is...ME (thus far)

Your Sanity Score
34
Based upon your answers, you appear to be in good mental health. Congratulations! You may experience specific mental health concerns, relationship issues, or other issues that come up from time to time in your life, but your overall mental health score suggests that you deal with these well. People with similar scores are more resilient than most people, handle stress appropriately, have good relationships with others, and are able to cope with the in's and out's of everyday life with grace and ease.

(The Sanity Score is based upon a scientific algorithm with scores ranging from 0 - 288.)

Your specific subscores are below (subscales range from 0 - 100). Under the graph of subscores, you will find additional information regarding the meaning of any significant scores or areas that may be of concern.

Either I wasn't completely Honest or I'm incredibly sane. I'd say the latter is true, judging by how I scored on Life Events, Phobias, and Technology Issues (though I think they should have been a bit higher)

edit: keep in mind that I actually have been diagnosed with a mental disorder: aspergers.

Forgot to get the results, don't have time to reanswer yet, but apparently, my sanity score is 13. The technology issues let me down...

I scored a 15, which is a bit of a surprise really.

Like RAK it was technology that got me, the test also thinks I'm an alcoholic ... oh well.

Wow, you won't even admit you have a problem. How do you ever expect to recover from your alcoholism if you don't face you disease? Next you're going to tell me you don't believe in a higher power...

The test gave me a 119, essentially telling me I have "few" problems. The test said I could use a "mental boost". Obviously the test is a load of crap.

Maybe the only thing keeping you from being a perfectly normal functioning member of society is your unwillingness to be one. Think

From BB's Results

Your Sanity Score
40

Code:

18 General Coping
34 Life Events
 3 Depression
 8 Anxiety
 0 Phobias
 8 Self-Esteem
10 Eating Disorders
 5 Schizophrenia
33 Dissociation
20 Mania
 6 Sexual Issues
31 Relationship Issues
25 Alcohol
 0 Drugs
 0 Physical Issues
50 Smoking Issues
 0 Gambling Issues
31 Technology Issues
 0 Obsessions/Compulsions
 0 Posttraumatic Stress
 4 Borderline Traits

Interesting. It appears that I have some "milder concerns" since I smoke, drink, and spend a lot of time on the internet:

From BB's Results

Life Events: You're experiencing events in your life that may be negatively affecting your overall mental health and your ability to cope with other things in your life. This may also affect your mood.

Dissociation: People with scores similar to yours sometimes lose track of time, people, places or events, but not to the extent that it causes serious problems in the individual's life. You can learn more about dissociative disorders here.

Relationship Issues: People with scores similar to yours often have a minor or moderate relationship issue that is causing them some concern.

Alcohol/Drug Issues: People with scores similar to yours often have an ongoing but moderate problem with either alcohol or drugs. People often believe the problem is "under control," but whether it actually is or not really depends on specific factors in your life. If others in your life have talked to you about your alcohol or drug use, and you still have not reduced it, that may be an indication of a more serious issue that you should seek help for.

Smoking: People with scores similar to yours often complain about smoking, want to quit, or feel they smoke too much. If you want to quit smoking, it is suggested you attempt to do so with a two-pronged approach:

A stop smoking self-help workbook or support group (or online support group)
A nicotine gum or patch to help curb the cravings
Either one alone decreases your chances of being successful in curbing your smoking. While some people can quit cold-turkey, most people find using both of the above strategies the most effective in helping them quit and stay away from smoking long-term.

Technology Issues: People with scores similar to yours sometimes complain about having difficulty controlling their time or use of the Internet and other technologies. They may check email obsessively, or IM friends all the time. Generally, most people do not consider this a problem or issue unless it is seriously affecting your relationships with your friends, your family members, or your significant other.

Recommendations
You have 6 milder concern(s) that we've identified. Such concerns may be a part of an ordinary person's usual up's and down's in life. However, if any of these issues cause you worry or concern, please consult with your physician or a mental health professional for further information.

On the whole, I'd say this test is pretty accurate.

87.

The test says I have two major problems. One is to keep my emotions to myself and the other one is based upon physical health. I say "let's guess our mental disturbances!" Very Happy How many in here are diagnosed? I have one of my own to play with. It has nothing to do with taking over the world with gene manipulated rabbits. Yay.
